Yue Li is an assistant professor in the Department of Geography. His lab discloses mechanism, pattern, and temporal evolution of the physical environment’s interaction with human society under the changing climate system, using global Earth system models, land surface models, and combine simulations with a variety of remote sensing and other geospatial datasets. His research addresses questions such as: How do human activities reshape the landscape of tropical intact forests? How does land use impact regional and global carbon and water cycle? How does climate change fuel extreme events such as heatwaves and wildfires? How do these compound extremes increase societal risks and threaten public health? How do we reduce Earth system model uncertainty? How do we combine Earth system observations and models to reduce climate impacts on humans?
