  • The Community Wellbeing Project
    Service|
    The UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and the AUA Turpanjian College of Health Sciences launched The Community Wellbeing Project to assist with community integration and resilience. Through building community and strengthening existing systems, the project reduces health disparities and improves overall community wellbeing.

  • USAID-Funded Trainings
    Education|
    The USAID-funded "Support to Control COVID-19 and Other Infectious Diseases" project by AUA and Armenia’s Ministry of Health included training sessions for Armenia’s Ministries, National Centers for Disease Control, and regional leadership on emergency response roles and health behavioral change and risk communication, promoting evidence-based interventions and positive health behaviors.

  • COVID-19 Communication
    Education|
    The UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and the AUA Turpanjian College of Health Sciences developed bilingual education and awareness campaigns on COVID-19, including a national COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, COVID-19 Guides, Decision-Tree for Institutes of Higher Education, Vaccination FAQs, Disease Prevention Posters for K-12 Schools, and more.

  • Establishment of an EOC
    Service|
    The Poppy Project team collaborated with WHO to develop an Emergency Operation Center and Plan for the Republic of Armenia, creating disaster plans, Incident Command System structures, job action sheets, and continuity plans. They also held training for leaders from Armenia’s National Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Ministry.

International Institute
  • UCLA's Operation Armenia
    Service
    Under the umbrella of The Promise Armenian Institute at UCLA and implemented through the generosity, advocacy, and support of UCLA Health, UCLA’s Operation Armenia is a coordinated effort of a dedicated interdisciplinary team providing immediate medical disaster relief and long-term humanitarian aid and infrastructure support to Artsakh and Armenia.

  • Armenian Lab
    Research
    The Armenian Lab is a collaborative research space dedicated to the archaeology and early history of Armenia. The project investigates the adaption of farming, exploitation of natural resources, and socio-economic connections in the region during the 6th and 5th millennium BCE through the analysis of the artifacts.

Projects/Programs

  • The projects and programs on this map constitute our “global data.” We define global data to be information related to “global topics” such as events, activities, and geographical areas outside of the United States. Any project or program conducted in an area outside of the United States is included on the map, as it speaks to UCLA’s direct engagement with the global community. Even if a project or program is conducted domestically, it is included as long as it engages with one or more global topics.

  • To collect data for the Projects/Programs map, we survey faculty on their research pursuits. We also explore UCLA websites such as faculty profiles, research centers, and department pages to learn about past and ongoing projects. We periodically review our data, archiving and removing projects and programs that have concluded or expired.
